Q: What are the minimum system requirements for Camelot?
COMPUTER:
1.2GHz processor or higher
• 512MB RAM memory (2GB recommended if running Vista)
• 1GB of free hard disk space
• CD or DVD-recordable drive or a USB Flash drive for external data backups
OPERATING SYSTEM:
Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista, XP Home, XP Media Center, Windows 2003 Server, Windows NT.
Be sure you have all the most current service packs and updates installed for your operating system(s). See http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. perating system memory and hard disk management issues that seem more stable in 2000 or NT.
NETWORKING:
As for network hardware, we recommend the LinkSys fast ethernet PCI network interface cards (LNE100TX). They are one of the least expensive cards and we have had good results with them. We also recommend either a LinkSys or a SmartLink network switch instead of a regular hub. Your network must be running at at least 100 Mbps (not 10 Mbps).
Be sure the following is true for your entire network system for the most stable environment:
1. You are running the same version of your chosen operating system on each machine.
2. You have the hard drive on the server mapped to a local drive letter on each workstation.
3. You are running ONLY the TCP/IP protocol over your network (not NetBEUI or any others).
4. You have at least 128 Mbytes RAM on each machine.
5. Your network cards are running at 100Mbps
6. Make sure none of your network cards are using a Realtek chipset (we recommend the Linksys LNE100TX network cards - they are the cheapest out there, and conveniently they work fine with our software).
7. You do not have caching turned on for the sharing of the hard drive on the server.
8. You have enabled security on each machine and each user has their own user name and password that they login as when going into the software.
