Form Layouts - Form Properties

General
Here you can change the name of a form.  Be aware not to reset it to a name already used on a different form layout.  You can also set the Left, Right, Top and Bottom margins in inches here. The Top for Expanding Regions is the position in inches on the page where the service/product region will begin printing again on a second page if the first page gets filled up.  The Bottom for Expanding Regions is the position in inches on the first page where when the service/product region gets there it will start a second page.  The Show on Menu box is obsolete and no longer used.

Paper
The Paper Size boxes here allow you to set the size in inches for the paper the form is printed on.  The Orientation cannot be set here.  It can only be set when you choose to print out the form on your Printer Properties screen.  The Num. Copies to Print box is the default number of copies of the form to be printed when you choose to print.  If you want a form to print multiple copies, then you should set that default number here.

Background
The background color is almost always white, but you could set it to some different color here if you wanted.  The grid size is a measurement in inches for the grid that objects are snapped to when they are dragged or resized on the form.  It is normally "0.05" or five hundredths of an inch.

Empty Text
You can set the font used for all the empty text displayed in fields on the form layout when there has not yet been anything entered into the field.  Refer to the help on Field Properties for more information.

Tab Order
You can choose Tab Order from the Form pull-down menu to put the fields in the order you want them entered on the form layout.  Simply click and drag the fields in the list on the right to put them in the order you want, and click OK.
