Setting up your vehicles / crews

To setup your vehicles, go to the Misc/Setup pull-down menu, and choose Vehicles.

Scheduled jobs are assigned to a vehicle. So in order to schedule jobs later, you must have the vehicles that you plan to operate set up now. Vehicle naming, or labeling, can be anything that makes sense to you.  It could be the name of the technician that usually works on the vehicle, or it could be a number, or whatever.

HINT: If you want to view many days and/or vehicles on a single screen at a time, try to keep your names short so the entire name will be visible most often. Conversely, longer names will be visible when viewing few days and/or vehicles at a time.

Vehicle setup is very similar to employee setup. You can incorporate images of your vehicles into the program, just like you can with employees.

To add a New Vehicle, click the Add New Vehicle button at the bottom of the screen.  Proceed until all your vehicles have been set up.

Absences
Schedule vehicle maintenance, downtime, and other absences on this tab.  When a Vehicle is absent for a day, it will not appear on the schedule screen.

Email
If you will want to send emails to your techs of their jobs that are coming up (maybe for use with a palmtop computer), then you need to enter their email address here on the vehicle screen in the Key Note box on the Profile tab.  It will use the first email address.

WARNING: Be careful that you don't mark a vehicle as absent or inactive that already has jobs scheduled to it.  This will cause those jobs not to appear on the schedule.
