Vista - Disabling User Account Control

If you are having any problems with your Camelot program not saving data, or your database now seems blank or not updated and you are running Windows Vista, it is because you have user account control enabled in Vista.

YOU MUST LEAVE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL DISABLED TO RUN OUR SOFTWARE IN VISTA.

IN ADDITION TO DISABLING USER ACCOUNT CONTROL:
On some versions of Vista, it is necessary when running Camelot to "Run as administrator" also.  This is done by instead of just double-clicking on the Camelot icon to run the software, you instead right-click on the icon and then choose "Run as Administrator".

Disabling User Account Control in Windows Vista:

Ensure you are ALWAYS logging into the computer using a Windows Administrative account

  • Click the Start icon
  • Click Search
  • Type “msconfig” (without the quotes)
  • Click OK
  • Click the Tools menu, highlight Disable UAC
  • Click Launch
  • After you receive the operation completely successfully message, restart the computer
