Cannot login to Camelot3

Camelot3 uses a Firebird database.

If you are having trouble logging into Camelot3, then it is either because:

1. You are using an incorrect username or password.

These items are case-sensitive, so being sure you are using the proper upper or lower case.  The default login for Camelot3 is username "ADMIN" with a password of "camelot".

2. Your Firebird server is not running.

Camelot3 requires Firebird, a database server program, to be running on your server machine.

On your server machine, look in your windows Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs, and be sure you see Firebird listed there.  If you do not, then someone has removed it inadvertently.  To resolve this, you will need to reinstall Camelot3 and the latest update for it.  You should have the necessary links to do this within emails you received after purchasing.  If not, please email info@camelotsoftware.com with all of your company information and what you are needing.

If Firebird is installed, then confirm that it is running by looking in your windows task manager (right-click on your windows taskbar and choose Task Manager) on the Processes tab (you can click on Image Name there to sort by that column) and look for "fbserver.exe", if you don't see it there, then restart your computer.  If you still don't see it, then you need to reinstall the Camelot3 program so that Firebird is reinstalled.  Refer to the previous paragraph to see about reinstalling.

3. If Firebird is installed and running, and you still cannot login:

Confirm that you have a Camelot3 database file (default is CAMDB.FDB) in the C:\Program Files\Camelot3\Database folder on your server.  If you do, then confirm that in the C:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_2_0 folder, there is an aliases (aliases.conf) file, and open it to see that there is a line there for "camelot = c:\program files\camelot3\database\CAMDB.FDB", and if not add that, or if your database file name or path is different, make the appropriate change there, and then restart your computer.

4. If after checking all of the above you still are unable to login, confirm that you do not have a firewall program running that is blocking the Firebird server by disabling any and all firewall programs (Norton Antivirus, McAfee, Spybot, etc. - any program that may contain a firewall).  The only firewall that should be running is the Windows Firewall (Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall), and on it Exceptions tab, there should be an exception added for the Firebird Server on TCP port 3050.  To add this, click Add Port, put in a Name of "fbserver" or "Firebird Server", and the port number of 3050, and be sure TCP is selected, and click OK.

5. If you have checked all the above and still cannot open Camelot3, if you are running a Windows 64-bit operating system, then refer to this topic about installing on Windows 64-bit.

6. If you are still having a problem, then contact technical support here or call 1-888-590-1696 and choose the option for technical support.
