Error - Access Violation

If you ever get an error message that says something like "Access Violation at address...", that means that there was an error in accessing some part of memory on your computer.

If the error pops up repeatedly after you click OK on the error message, then end the Camelot program task by pressing [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Delete] on your keyboard, and in the windows Task Manager, highlight the Camelot program there, and click End Task or End Process, and then End Now.

Sometimes you may get this error when closing out of the program, and you shouldn't worry.  Simply restart your computer (physically turn it off or unplug it if you have to), and then before opening Camelot again, compact your data (windows Start > Programs > Camelot > Compact Main Database).

If you get this error after compacting, then restart your computer again, and then everything should be fine.

This error seems to occur much more often in either Windows 95, 98, ME, or XP which is one of the reasons that we recommend Windows 2000.

Also, be sure that you have all service packs and updates for your operating system installed.  Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to get those.
