A Basic Marketing Funnel came setup already with your Camelot Software.
From the Misc/Setup pull-down menu, choose Marketing Funnels. Choose the “Basic Funnel” listed on the left. By looking at the entries on the right, we can see that we want to send a "Thank-you Letter" to first-time clients within a week of their job, a different "Thank-you Letter" to repeat clients within a week of their job, a "Reminder letter" to clients that are from 6 months ago, and a different "Reminder letter" to clients from over 12 months ago.
The criteria for the first group of clients (the first-timers) looks like this:
1. No Mail is No or False, which means that these clients are not marked to be ignored when doing mailouts (Don't Mail box on their client information screen is not checked)
2. Their Mailing Address is not empty, which means we do have a mailing address entered for them
3. Their Last Order Date is their First Order Date, which means that the last time they had work done was the first time they had gotten work done.
4. And finally that their Last Order Date was in last week.
We have also chosen the specific type of correspondence that we will send to clients who meet these criteria, in this case a Thank You Letter. There are ready-to-use letters in the Power Marketing Kit that you can use as your marketing pieces. All of these criteria for the Basic funnel are already set up for you, along with the necessary merge fields in the mail merge documents used by this funnel.
The criteria for the second group of clients (the repeat clients from this past week) is the same as the first group above, except we know they are repeats because one of the criteria is that their "Last Order Date is not on their First Order Date".
The criteria for the third group of clients (6 month reminders) is also similar, except these are clients whose Last Order Date is between 6 and 7 months ago.
The criteria for the last group of clients (over a year reminders) is the same except these are clients whose Last Order Date is earlier than (or is before) 12 months ago.
