How do I enable security / login?

By default, the user name for Camelot is "Manager" and the password is the word "password".  These are both case-sensitive - meaning you have to enter them just like that (capital M, lower case anager, and all lower case password).

Without you realizing it, it is automatically logging in as this user name and password when you don't enable security.  Once you enable security, it will ask for a user name and password when you attempt to open the software.

Here are the steps for Enabling Security:
1. Close all programs.
2. From your Windows Start menu, go up to Programs, then over to Camelot, and choose the Camelot DB Utility.
3. Click on option 4 to Change/Update the location of shared database files
4. Check the Enable Security box there, and click the Update Registry button.

Now when you open Camelot, it will ask you for a login name and password. The first time, you will still need to enter “Manager” as the user name and “password” as the password, but after that, you can go to the Misc/Setup pull-down menu at the top and choose Employees, and enter in user names and passwords for each employee.

To change the password for the Manager user, you must first create another user name that has access to every form.  Then, login as that other user, and go to the Employees screen's User tab, choose another employee, and click Change User Name/Password, and type "Manager" as the user name for the employee, and type a different password for the Manager user.

Troubleshooting
If you have not enabled security and the software is asking for a user name and password to open, then you may have a corrupted workgroup information file.  You will need to restore your WrkGrp.mdw file from a backup most likely to solve this problem.  Do this by running the Camelot DB Utility program (windows Start > Programs > Camelot > Camelot DB Utility) and choosing the Restore from backup option, and choosing to restore your Workgroup Information file, and choose to restore one of the older backups that are listed for it.
