There are a wide variety of ways to set up commissions in Camelot. Mainly you can pay any flat commission of your making, any commission scale, plus a combination of other bonuses that are paid either flat or scaled. Take a look at the basic commissions and scales in the sample data to get an idea of what you can do.
For more information on applying commissions to jobs, see the help on Completing Jobs.
You can define new commission scales by clicking the button at the bottom of the commission level setup screen. Refer to the help for Pricing Scales to understand a little more about how a scale works.
Basically, commissions can be earned as an amount earned on each job, usually just a flat percentage of the total price of the job. You can also choose to only pay commissions based on certain add-on sales, discussed below. This makes it so that when you run your commission reports, you can see how much commission was earned on each job.
Add on Sales Bonus
Add on Sales Bonus Break – If the Add on Sales for an employee exceeds this amount, then Camelot will apply the Add on Sales Bonus figures to their commission. Add on sales are any sales made over and above the original booking price of an order.
Add on Sales Bonus Percent – The percentage to be applied for commissions if the Add on Sales Bonus Break is surpassed.
Add on Sales Bonus Dollar Amount – The dollar amount to be added to an employee's commissions if the Add on Sales Bonus Break is surpassed.
Add on Sales Bonus Scale – Use a scale to determine the percentage and/or dollar amount to be added to an employee's commissions if the Add on Sales Bonus Break is surpassed.
Special Service Bonuses
You can also choose to allow special service bonuses. This is a bonus commissions percent based on a certain service being done or a certain product being sold. In your service and product setup, there is an option to pay a special commission percent for a certain service. If a commission level has the Allow Special Service Bonuses check box checked, then an employee at that commission level will get those extra bonus percentages for the special service.
Each of your employees should have a default commission level. Then, when you mark that a certain employee worked on a certain job, then that commission level will be there by default. You can change the commission level for a particular occurrence of an employee on a job as well. On this commission levels screen, you should be sure to define all of the possible commission levels for any employee.
